The 14th Annual Crawfordsville Elks Lodge 483 Car Show, will be held Saturday August, 2016, in Crawfordsville, Indiana. There is a new venue this year, it will be at Creekside Lodge, beside Sugar Creek, just off of Lafayette Avenue, west of US 231. COVINGTON, Ind. — The 25th annual Covington Apple Fest will fill the square around the Fountain County Courthouse on Saturday.
The day’s events actually start at 7 a.m. with the Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast at the fire station. It will be served until 10 a.m. EDT.
At 8 a.m. EDT, a bicycle tour sponsored by the Fountain Trust Co. will pedal off. Call the Covington Banking Center at (765) 793-2237 for information.
Events begin with a 9:45 a.m. EDT welcome from Mayor Brad Crain. Vendors will be set up around the courthouse until 5 p.m. EDT.
The Little Miss Apple of Your Eye and Johnny Appleseed contest will begin at 10 a.m. EDT. Registration for boys and girls ages 4-8 begins runs 9-9:30 a.m. EDT at festival headquarters.
A car, truck and motorcycle show runs during the event. Registration will be 9-11 a.m. EDT with trophies awarded at 2 p.m.
Tours of the historic courthouse murals by Kay Hunter are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The 1842 Fountain County Clerk’s Building/Museum at 516 Fourth St. will be open all day as well.
The Masonic Fish Fry will close out the day, serving from noon until 6:30 p.m. EDT at the fire station.

The Crawfordsville Elks Lodge will have its 12th annual Car, Truck & Cycle Show on Saturday August 2nd, 2014, at the lodge on S.R. 32.
Registration is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $15 and is open to cars, trucks and motorcycles. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 vehicles. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. About 48 awards will be given along with door prizes.
The program includes grilled food, the Elks American flag exhibit with a World War II military vehicle, 50s and 60s music as well as licensed raffles.
The event is used to support the Elks Cancer Fund, a statewide Elk’s fund that is used to support cancer research at Indiana and Purdue universities. Overall Indiana Elks give about $250,000 per year for cancer research without any administrative expenses incurred.
Carsten Lemkau, event organizer, said about $1,700 was raised locally last year.
The event, which is free to spectators, is co-hosted by the Ben Hur Car Club.
